Catholic Charities Atlanta’s Annual Giving Breakfast

Catholic Charities Atlanta’s Annual Giving Breakfast was held virtually on June 9th.

The event recognized the ongoing efforts CCA has been making to ensure that the necessary support continues for clients and families that we serve throughout the year as well as those we have been serving through the coronavirus pandemic.

The 35-minute virtual event featured personal stories from families, clients, and community leaders who shared their experiences from home. A special highlight of the event included a performance by the University of Notre Dame’s The Echoes Acappella Choir.

During the program, Lisa Menendez, CCA Board Chair shared that, “These times are truly unchartered waters and so many aspects of our lives have been, at a minimum, put on pause or irrevocably altered forever.  No one has been left unscathed. And the future remains uncertain.

So, what is our response to this uncertainty? What do we do now? For me, the answer is clear – roll up our sleeves and redouble our efforts on behalf of those most in need. Why do it?  Because this is the only possible response to the grace and blessings given to us by God. He asked us to Feed His Sheep. And that’s what we’re going to try to do. By sacrificing in a significant – perhaps even an uncomfortable – way, we become Beacons of Light.  When we become Beacons of Light, we don’t just survive- we will thrive.”

Funds raised support Catholic Charities Atlanta’s mission to provide supportive services that enable families to overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency.

Please note when watching the video that the first fifteen minutes of the video includes a prelude before the first speaker kicks of the program.
