Food Assistance


Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as Food Stamps Program), helps households that have limited income and resources to pay for the cost of food. A single individual, families, and
individuals living together are eligible to receive food stamps if they meet
certain requirements.
Who is eligible?
• A citizen of the United States.
• Legal Permanent Residents who have had their green cards for 5+ years.
• Qualified immigrant children under age 18, refugees, and certain elderly and
disabled individuals are eligible without a waiting period.
• Someone who is not eligible due to immigration status may apply on behalf
of a U.S citizen or eligible noncitizen household members.

Information and Referral
Catholic Charities Atlanta assists clients with access to services provided by other non-profit or governmental agencies. Our information and referral services are free for anyone in the community.Our certified staff assists with referrals for housing/shelter, food pantries, the furniture bank, rent and utility assistance, and more.
Benefits Screening and Application Services

Disaster Response
The agency provides resources and assistance for victims of disasters who are in need of rent, food, utilities, and mortgage assistance due to damage caused by severe weather (when funds are available).
