Catholic Charities Atlanta’s (CCA) Run to Serve is a 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk
with all proceeds benefiting vulnerable children in Catholic Charities Atlanta’s programs.

NEW Theme for 2024: Holy Halloween!

The Holy Halloween! 5K & 1 Mile “Fun” Run/Walk took place at Blackburn Park in Brookhaven Saturday, October 26, 2024.

It was a huge success! Almost 400 runners and walkers received special inaugural medals and were treated to cookie decorating, pumpkin painting, music and lots of fun. Many were dressed up in their best Halloween costumes- five top prizes were given away.

Overall 5K winners include Caleb Goodno (18:47) and Reese Vagedes (20:04). Masters’ winners include Jeffrey Klumpp (21:05) and Tara Mooney (21:16).

“Youth can make a difference in the lives of their peers who are less fortunate” stated CEO Vanessa Russell. “This event brings families across the Archdiocese together to run or walk for vulnerable youth in our community.”

Finishers received special inaugural medals and T-shirts. Sponsors included Flying Laboratories, Walker Group, Rodriguez Immigration, Socheat Chea, P.C., Bensman Law, Catholic Metro Sports, Resurgens Orthopaedics, West Stride, Kroger, Café at Pharr, Dunkin’, Vaness & Steven Russell, Jack & Jane Nichols, Brian & Holly Monaghan, Dr. Rhona & Joe Federer, and the Catholic Charities Atlanta Board.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

The St. Sebastian Award For Catholic Schools

The St. Sebastian Award is presented to outstanding Catholic school students across various divisions. Named after the patron saint for runners, this award features a one-mile fun run for grades K-5 and a 5k run for students in grades 6-12.

Each participating school competes to achieve the top placing runner in their division. The winning school is honored with a prestigious plaque, proudly displayed on their campus for one year. This plaque signifies their achievement in comparison to other local Catholic schools.
