Catholic Charities Atlanta Family Stabilization Services helps families move toward self-sufficiency. CCA’s bi-lingual staff helps families to stabilize their current living situation, providing services intended to help them achieve self sufficiency. One major component of these services is our housing counseling program.

Pre-Purchase Counseling
There are many steps involved in buying a home. Credit checks, income histories, and loan approvals can become confusing for the new home buyer. Pre-purchase counseling guides potential homeowners through this process.
Our staff helps clients learn budgeting skills and money management strategies that will help them be best prepared for their mortgage payments and the additional costs of owning a home.
Mortgage Default/Delinquency and Foreclosure Intervention/Prevention
As a HUD-approved Housing Counseling Agency, CCA provides free comprehensive counseling for homeowners who are having trouble making their mortgage payments. By doing this, we assess the individual financial situations of each client. We identify possible options and provide services which include: developing a budget, creating an action plan, and education about the process of foreclosure and your rights as a homeowner. When appropriate, and at the homeowner’s request, we facilitate interventions with lenders to explore alternatives offered by them to solve current loan defaults.
Homebuyer Education Seminars
The goal of homebuyer education seminars is to educate potential homebuyers about the steps involved in the home-buying process, as well as equip participants with the necessary tools to make a wise purchasing decision and maintain homeownership.
